Synopsis: A charming "coming of age" film set in the Big island town of Honokaa. Based on a novel of the same title by Leo Yoshida. Leo lived in Honokaa and related his experiences with the locals in Honokaa town.

Japanese college student Leo is out of luck in life and in love as his long time girlfriend dumps him after their trip together to Hawaii. However, He can't get his mind out of the picturesque town of Honokaa, which he stopped for directions. Leo takes a break from college and decides to live in Honokaa, working as a projectionist at a local movie theatre. It is here in Honokaa, Leo experiences the quiet life of Hawaii and the meaning of aloha spirit as he is impacted by the eccentric and different local people, he meets in Honokaa. Come and see the quiet beauty of old Hawaii through the eyes of a Japanese malahini!
