2012 Pre-Tax Bus Pass
Aloha!
The University of Hawai‘i 2012 Open Enrollment period for the State’s Pre-Tax Transportation Benefit Pilot Program (PTBP) is May 9, 2012 through June 21, 2012. All eligible employees may enroll in the bus pass program during the open enrollment period for an August bus pass. Employees may purchase monthly bus passes, TheHandi-van fare coupons, and vouchers for Vanpool seat fee through payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis, thereby saving on FICA, Federal and State income taxes.
NOTE: Employees already enrolled in the bus pass program need not re-enroll each year. Participation will continue in the program unless the employee requests a cancellation. Enrollment for TheHandi-Van and Vanpool may be submitted any time during the year.
To be eligible to participate in this program, employees must meet the following criteria:
Eligible to participate in the State of Hawai‘i Employees’ Retirement System
Live and work on O‘ahu, and
Do not have other pre-tax transportation benefit payroll deduction (i.e., parking in a University-controlled lot, handi-van, vanpool or senior / disability annual pass).
